Beacon Service is a social prescribing service to support people who would benefit from support within their local community. We offer a person-centred approach and can refer and advise you of a range of services, organisations and community groups in your local area to support you. If you feel you could benefit from our service please contact us on 0161 518 5550/07935 755 990 or email admin@buryvcfa.org.uk

You can visit the website here.

At Beacon Service we want to support people accessing the internet and utilise the online services groups, services and organisations offer. This need has only been highlighted during the lockdown for Covid-19. This guidance booklet  is extremely helpful and was originally produced by the ladies at Women of Worth as part of the Greater Manchester Ambition for Ageing project led by Groundwork in Bury. Following this Beacon Service and Women of Worth have further developed the booklet developed to reflect additional information people have requested during lockdown.

Prestwich Wellbeing Support – Issue 1

Women of Worth is a women’s only community project based in Bury providing specialist needs-led support services for women who are vulnerable, have multiple complex needs and who are often isolated and excluded from society because of their life styles and circumstances. All staff have a belief that women can make positive change in their life and we provide them with the help and support to give them hope to believe they can face and deal with adversity. We provide a range of services and activities to help build confidence, learn new skills and connect people and communities. We also provide advice, information and support to empower people to become independent and more informed. We provide tailored support to enable women to find their own capacity in order to help themselves become more resilient, increase self-efficacy and fulfill their true potential. For more information please contact Dawn on 07999 533963 or by email wow.womensservicesbury@gmail.com

We work in partnership with dedicated local groups, organisations and services for specifically for veterans and that are veteran friendly that will enable individuals to access the best possible support for their health and wellbeing. We ensure we have the most up to date information about groups, activities, services and organisations before we make a referral as we know things change regularly.
